Acorn to Oak Therapy Practice

"Mighty oaks from little acorns grow" - English proverb

From overwhelm to understanding - therapy that supports growth at your pace

I offer a warm, supportive space where you can talk openly and make sense of what’s going on for you. Whether you’re struggling with anxiety, low mood, past experiences, relationship challenges, health concerns or simply feeling stuck, we can work together to explore things at your pace. My approach is integrative, meaning I tailor therapy to you — helping you build insight, develop coping strategies, and feel more grounded in yourself and your life.

Qualifications & Professional Background -

I hold a degree in integrative counselling and psychotherapy, which included both academic study and supervised clinical practice.

Prior to this, I completed an Access to Higher Education Diploma in Health and Social Care (Distinction), and have a background working within care settings, including hospital and community-based roles.

I am a Youth Mental Health First Aider through MHFA England, and have completed additional training and workshops in areas such as gambling-related harm and substance use with organisations including GamFam and Turning Point.

Alongside my core training, I continue to engage in ongoing professional development (CPD) to support my practice and ensure my work remains ethical, informed, and responsive.

I am an individual member of the British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy (BACP) and work in line with their Ethical Framework.
Membership number: 00988241

I am fully insured, DBS checked, and registered with the ICO, and I attend regular clinical supervision and personal therapy as part of my professional practice.

I am a qualified integrative counsellor offering a calm, grounded and non-judgemental space for adults aged 18 and over. I provide counselling for a range of experiences, including anxiety, depression, low mood, stress, and emotional overwhelm. My approach is rooted in the belief that therapy is not about fixing, but about gently making sense of what has been carried, increasing self-awareness, and supporting you to move towards something that feels more steady, manageable, and meaningful.

I have experience working with a wide range of clients and presentations, including those who are neurodivergent or supporting neurodivergent family members, and individuals navigating complex life experiences, loss, identity, and relationship difficulties. I also support clients experiencing suicidal thoughts, long-standing emotional patterns, and those living with long-term or chronic health conditions. My work is always led by your individual needs, at a pace that feels safe and appropriate for you.

Alongside this, I hold a strong interest in women’s health and the emotional impact it can carry. This includes experiences such as domestic abuse, PMDD, endometriosis, menopause, fertility challenges, miscarriage, and in supporting individuals living with mesh injury. I recognise how often these experiences can feel misunderstood or isolating, and I offer a space where they can be explored with care, sensitivity and respect.

Tree-Lined Park Path

Before training as a counsellor, my background was in care-based roles within hospital and community settings. I have supported individuals living with dementia and those approaching end of life, as well as children with additional and specialised needs, including those within the care system. These experiences have shaped my understanding of resilience, adaptation, and the importance of being met with compassion during difficult times.

At the heart of my work is a genuine belief in the value of counselling. This comes not only from my professional training, but also from my own experience of therapy and witnessing its impact in the lives of others. I have always been someone who feels deeply and connects easily with others, and my decision to train as a counsellor came following a significant life change and a period of self-discovery. What began as a personal journey became a clear sense of direction — to support others in understanding themselves, finding their voice, and navigating life in a way that feels more their own.

I offer a space that is steady, collaborative and respectful of your pace. A place where you can explore your thoughts, feelings and experiences without pressure or expectation — and where change is not forced, but allowed to emerge.

What I do -

I offer counselling for adults aged 18 and over, providing a calm, confidential space where you can talk openly and feel heard without judgement. Therapy offers the opportunity to slow things down, make sense of what you’re experiencing, and explore your thoughts and feelings in a way that feels safe and supported.

My approach is integrative, meaning I draw from a range of therapeutic approaches to support you as an individual. This can include person-centred, psychodynamic, cognitive behavioural (CBT), and existential therapy. Integrative counselling recognises that no single approach suits everyone, so I adapt how I work depending on your needs.

Together, we might explore how past experiences are influencing the present, gain a deeper understanding of your emotions, or find ways to respond to difficulties that feel more manageable and meaningful in your everyday life.

I offer face-to-face counselling in Ipswich as well as online therapy across the UK, giving you flexibility in how you access support. The Ipswich space includes disabled access and an accessible therapy room, which was an important part of creating a service that feels inclusive and available to as many people as possible.

I am fully insured, DBS checked, and registered with the ICO for GDPR compliance, ensuring your information is handled safely and confidentially. I also attend regular clinical supervision and engage in my own personal therapy to support safe, ethical, and reflective practice.

At the heart of my work is building a trusting therapeutic relationship, where you can feel safe enough to explore, reflect, and begin to understand yourself more fully.

If you’re considering counselling in Ipswich or looking for online therapy, you’re welcome to get in touch to arrange an initial conversation and see if working together feels right for you.
